Got out early this morning and hiked to my hunted out cellar spot, after I was about
ready to go I got a 50-60s signal by a spot I never detected around, I dug down about
5" and was surprised to see an 1867 shield nickel in the bottom of the hole! After that I
was at a local park because I went with my family, I brought my detector with me
and headed for the woods, after a while I looked across the lake and noticed dozens
of old bottles sticking out of the bottom of the dried out lake!

Me and my friends picked up as much as we could and brought them back to the car,
by the time we were done we had a few 1890s and early 1900s ones and a few more modern ones.
I plan to get back to that spot soon this time more prepared!

Great eyes on the bottles. :congrats:on the shield nickel, a coin which still eludes me. Did you just pick the bottles up or did you use your detector in the area also?

Thanks! I was detecting in the woods when I noticed some of the bottles sticking out of the dried up lake that I was detecting next to, I grabbed a bag and put some of the nicer ones in, and I didn't detect the area with the bottles but I plan to go back soon with a detector.
