I had a small window of opportunity to do some metal detecting this afternoon so I decided to drive to a high school where me and DaddyDigger had some success a couple of years ago.

The second signal I dug was a 1934 Mercury Dime, so that was a good start. About 30 minutes later I was detecting near the flagpole and got a 10-47 signal at 6" deep on the E-Trac. I was pleasantly surprised when a 1938 Walking Liberty Half revealed itself in the hole! That makes 3 Walkers so far this year.

After a few wheat cents I got an iffy signal at 6" that was kind of bouncing around. I popped the plug and loosened some dirt and saw a silver quarter! It was a 1936 Washington. I rechecked the hole and there was a wheat cent in there with it. I guess that was what was making the signal bouncy.

All three of the silvers are from the 1930s and none of them have a mint mark.

Here are today's finds:

And the keepers after cleaning:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

Darn to bad that Walker didn't turn up a "D". Great hunt and great coins as usual. You can tell the different metal composition of the early wheats they all look nicer than the later wheats. WD
