Branching out to Ohio for some Keepers

This past week me and DaddyDigger took our annual road trip to Ohio. By last Sunday afternoon we were hunting a couple of old parks in the Dayton area. On Monday we met up with Bell-Two for some more park hunting. Thank you for your warm hospitality, Tony! We sure appreciate you showing us some places to hunt. It is always a pleasure detecting with you.

I'm almost embarrassed to show my finds after the week DaddyDigger had, but I am still happy with my results.

Here are all of my coin finds for the week:

It was enjoyable finding some older Indian Head Cents. I ended up with Indians dated 1868, 1869, 1876, 1879, 1880, 1885, 1885, 1889, 1893

Great finds Tony! Thanks so much for making the trip with me again this year. Your friendship and camaraderie are the best treasure one could ever hope to find! That token sure cleaned up well and what a nice surprise it is! The DoD plate also cleaned up real nice. Have you Googled his name yet? If he is deceased he will show up in the SSN death list. I still haven't finished sorting out all my clad and junk. I'm not sure where I put the gold-plated necklace, maybe it's in my car somewhere. Thanks again for a GREAT 6 days of MDing and HH, Dave.

And what a week it was. Those wheat's are nice and green with some early dates. The 2 shield nickels alone would have made my week. Nothing old in the silver department but at least you got some.

Over all looks like the week was a success. Being able to spend a week detecting with a detecting buddy is priceless.

Everyone of your Indians seem to be in very nice shape.

I wish I could be so embarrassed. Those early Indians are very nice coins and 2 shields are pretty darn impressive. I'd say both you guys had a great trip. Ohio seems to have rewarded your trip pretty well. Nice hunts. WD

Nickels are always the easiest to clean for me. I just scrub them with a toothbrush using soap and water, as they can't be damaged easily.
