I found this about a week ago in a local park. It appears to be lead and has some weight to it. I looked at it and thought it looked like Civil War era grapeshot? Any thoughts?

Grapeshot is iron I think. Lead could be roundball or bullet? Would like to see some pictures…

Jbolf6 , is there any way to measure the size (have any calipers) , most grapeshot is iron and pretty large too (maybe an inch to an inch and a half in size) but i've see some canister shot that was lead ball.

I was reading about "Peters" ammunition, come to find out that Peters made ordinance even during the civil war, I never realized they had been around that long till I started researching a 32ACP Peters round that I found :)

I had no idea Peters was making ammo that many ears ago. Amazing!
