View Full Version : Long hike produces 2 shoe buckles & a 1904 Teddy Roosevelt Campaign fob

Todd & myself put miles on the ole shoe leather sunday.found a couple sites we had never been to before.
we both did well with Todd having the edge over my finds.month long copper slump for me :crying01:
I was able to save 2 shoe buckles, an escutcheon plate,4 of the 5 buttons are tombacs and my 2nd Roosevelt/Fairbanks campaign fob.was a nice day,temps were perfect & the ticks are back out in a feeding frenzy

That's a unique fob Dave. A couple of very nice buckles too. Worth the sore feet :thumbsup01:

You still managed some relics out of there. Although this is another FOB for same election this one looks a bit different. The 1828 one found this summer was really ornate. The one you found from 1904 only have the names. Now, you would be lucky to get a pen from the campaings. Lol.

Are ticks usually out this late in the year?

thanks! yes they do not die.early spring and late fall they are especially bad as they go into a feeding frenzy

Love those buckles Dave! The Fob is cool as well. Never heard of TR's running mate before. Thanks for the heads up on the tick's.

Great looking buckles. Don't worry you'll be getting a copper real soon. The fob is unique and you've got two of them. I see from Todd's video that you still tape up your pants. The ticks are gonna have to work real hard to get at you.
