New to metal detecting. I live in Dunn NC which is right off I95 at exit 73. I just got my 2 boys some bounty hunters and me an AT Pro. Trying to learn but mainly digging trash right now. Great hobby and me and my boys are having fun.

Ditto everything that Dan said! If you haven't already, Garrett has some good beginner tutorials on AT Pro operation at their website and youtube. http://www.garrett.com/hobbysite/hbby_at_pro_videos.aspx

Hello and welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. I agree with everyone else, finding trash is just part of the game. But sometimes you can dig some pretty Cool trash. Trust me, your going to get more excited by your kids finds than your own. The look on their face when they find something good is priceless.

Welcome from western MA. You and the boys are in for a lot of fun. We all dig some trash but as time goes on the good finds start coming. A lot has to do with getting to know your machine. Looking forward to seeing some great finds posted by you and your team.

Welcome from another Tarheel about 1.5 hours away from you. Trash is part of the learning curve. Have fun and dig everything right now until you can distinguish by ear what is good and what is bad.

Yes Sir! you and the boys are off to a good start.

About the trash . Everyone finds it... Something you and the boys can do is to keep all that trash metal for recycle. With the three of you collecting all the scrap copper , aluminum, iron and what not you can build up a nice little resale value.
