It was warmed right up this morning and almost all of the snow was gone, they were predicting rain but looking at the radar I decided that it wasn't real bad yet so I went for it. It's one of my old standby spots that's only a mile away, I branded the place Park/Woods a long time ago, I've been hunting the spot in the spring and winter since 1998 and there hasn't been a year go by since that I didn't find at least one silver there, today I managed to conjure of three pieces of silver.

And three very different pieces of silver. Love that fork, the design at the end of the handle is fantastic. Very nice merc but what is the third item? A charm?. That spot has been producing for you since 1998...WOW.

Wow, 26 years of producing. That's amazing. Keep it a secret, it likes you. The pull tabs are even shiny. Congrats on the nice silver and thanks for sharing.

The fork is clean; you gonna put it in your silverware for the holidays? lol. The earlier wheats have a fat rim. Nice finds.

So Larry , what do you think this spot was ?? a picnic grove , "lover's lane " or just a look out view type of area back in the 40's ? congrats on the silver and wheats :thumbsup02:

Del here's an aerial view from Bing. The property was originally donated Charles B. Hays to Kalamazoo around 1900 for a park, along with a couple other parks (including South park which takes me less than 5 minutes to walk to).

Here's one of my favorite finds from there, I think it was probably the winter of 2007 or 8 that I found this, it was about a foot deep and I found it with my MXT.

There was also a City booklet published on the history of all city parks around 2008 I never did get a copy of but I've talked with a fellow detectorist that has a copy and he said there were temporary military buildings there at one time too. I have found a couple old U.S. spoons here too, the old nickel silver ones.

Congrats on the three pieces of silver, Larry! :thumbsup02:

I really like that fork! Very nice! In all my years of detecting I have never found a solid silver piece of tableware.

Congrats on the productive day! :clapping:

Thanks for all the great replies everyone :thumbsup02: I was looking at the price they're getting for the fork, anywhere from $40 on up, Amazon had one listed for $52.

That fork is a nice chunk of Silver. I think I remember seeing the post for that watch. You better keep digging before the lake effect gets back your way. :thumbsup01:

That is an excellent bit of silver conjurring you did there Larry. I hope the rest of the winter is as fruitful for you.
