Today I went back to the spot where I lost my camera. No dice but pulled up my best NY Municipal Police Button. This is the 5th one from this site.

As I was gridding the area where I've dug all of the coins, I dug a sweet colonial shoe buckle that all of the parts still freely move! Any ideas on age would be great. Also dug the dog tag & skeleton key here as well. No coins today but I'm sure more will turn up.

Moved down the old road to another site & got the MA Button. Very hard to tell if any writing was on the front & the back is pretty shot but I can make out "RY" & "CO" so I'm sure it was made in Waterbury.

Happy Hunting & Happy New Year!
Roger

Awesome Roger! That button under a rock or something? The condition is perfect! That buckle is an oldie too!

Thanks! Nope, it was just in the dirt about an 1" down. I too am amazed at it's condition. The site is pretty high up on a hill so I'm guessing any water that got on it, just drained down into the water table.

That Municipal button hardly looks like it was buried. The MA button and other goodies are a fine way to end the season. Congrats!
