We had a club hunt today and I came away with big gold. Marked 14K Italy. Probably the heaviest piece I ever found at 29 grams. Got a touch of silver too with a warn SLQ. I saw several other large cents come up, one I had to take a picture of. It was Andy's first large cent and a nice one at that. Congrats Andy! I also pulled a couple of flat buttons and small buckle. Maybe I'll add the photos at some point. They're still in my pouch in the trunk. Also hit a nearby "hunted out" spot yesterday and came up with a piece of silver in the form of a war nickel as well as a V nickel. I've pulled so much out of this small school yard since it's been "hunted out". http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif

Sweet find on the 14K bracelet! :thumbsup02: and the SLQ!!
Congrats!
I've been wondering, what a gold chain or bracelet would register on a detector? What kinda signal did your machine give? What kinda detector were you using?

Using a CTX-3030 and it was reading 12 06/07. It seems a lot of different gold comes in at 12 07' Big school rings are 10k and contain a lot of copper in the alloy. With that much copper in the hole they can read up close to a penny reading.
