Today on a whim I decided to go dig a spot I hadn't been to for about a year, where I had found quite a few coppers and other relics. It is an 1849 house, but I think there may have been something colonial at the spot before the current house was built there. I hunted all over the property and ran into some sheep in the field. They were really curious, they would come up and sniff me and then run away, it was kinda funny! Anyway, I got a nice signal, about 85 on my at-pro, and dug down 8 inches and saw a copper! I cleaned it off on my pants leg because that's my favorite toasted copper cleaning method, and was able to see part of auctori and on the back a sitting woman holding a pole, and knew I had a Connecticut copper, which is awesome to find down here in southern PA. I seem to be doing well with state coppers, this is my second one so far this year. Happy easter!

Sweet copper man, toasty or not, you can ID it and that's what matters most :)

Congrats and I agree with you on the colonial part, may have been a starter home where the "new" 1849 house is that was burned, and rebuilt the house ontop of where the older one was.

What a beautiful piece of colonial history you have there. Who knows how many hands that coin passed through? Great job Luke!
