Like Todd said we hit 3 new sites.slow going at 1st 2 sites.had to work for our finds at those.I managed some buttons at 2nd site mostly larger colonial coat buttons and the 1 piece eagle artillery button & a almost complete shoe buckle.then near the barn foundation got a high tone, dug down.out popped a couple buttons in same hole.checked with pin pointer..more buttons.when all was said and done 24 small cuff buttons in same hole.8 were 1820's jacksonian steam engine buttons which are very early 2 piece buttons.
next site we hit started producing right off the bat.shoe buckle chape on lip of cellar hole.buttons started popping.Todd got his sweet artillery's then a musket trigger guard & i finally dug a script LA 1st regiment and a pewter script Infantry.was a good way to end the day! the tusk and teeth from a wild boar todd dug when digging a target

It still amazes me, the stuff you guys find in your area. I bet you would get bored hunting here in Illinois. LOL
Although I do find an occasional harmonica reed.:lolsign:

Shocked to see those teeth. You pulled up a lot of buttons. Sometimes it seems like [my] machine is a quarter magnet, then next time it's a dime magnet, then a penny magnet... Hmm.. 1820s was first time for two piece buttons? I thought it was a little later on but I had not been told such before. Nice buckles too.

Fantastic finds Dave. Absolutely love the early steam engine buttons. Those are so interesting! I have to imagine all those buttons in the same hole came off one coat. No way they'd end up there randomly like that. Also love the LA 1st regiment button as well.
