I knew this site had some coppers somewhere... I was getting tired of digging silver and 1600s buckles
JUST KIDDING
I thought maybe I also had an 1877 IH while still in the field, but it turned out to be 1879.
Also,
1888 IH
1917 Merc
I forget the wheat date
The lamp turner patent date is Jan 7th 1879
I guess the holed copper is a KG as the CONN or CONNEC isn't apparent as they usually are. I think they may have tried to hole it twice...probably should have, as it would have stayed on their neck
Thanks for looking!
PS I love finding buttons with cloth on them, sometimes the color is still there!

Another nice hunt. When your finding coppers and IH's I can see how you can forget the date on the "wheat"....

Interesting. Maybe it's similar to my silver Balboa or the roman coin found here in CT that a YTC member found. Just a lucky coin someone had for generations and turned into a necklace. Nice score tho and an early merc.

You're killing it out of that site Drew. Congrats on the break from all that silver and really old stuff. ;)

Nice when those coppers just get in the way ! I agree on the buttons with cloth Drew. It adds another level of coolness. My USA button still has some blue threads on the shank.
