Last night I went back to the spot where I got the Half Dime last week. But this time the sun was still out. I spent about 3 hours combing the area and found a total of 6 Indians and 5 Silvers! That was the most Indians I have ever found in one hunt. The time went by quick!

Indians : 1888, 1892, 1901 and 1902 x 3. They were all a bit toasty so I gave them a peroxide bath. It helped a bit. I do not recommend doing that to any Indians that are in good shape because it does tend to turn them a brown color. But these were common dates, worn and toasty.

Silvers : 1899, 1916S, 1920D x 2 and a 1939. The 1916 mercury is probably the best looking coin BUT I slashed the back...thankfully it was not a D mm! Also very nice to see a Barber dime.

I found a couple relics. A big old Native American style copper bracelet, a flattened penny, and a button that has a date of 1873 and a pic of Lady Liberty. Im guessing that this button is not that old but I am not sure...heck it may not even be a button?

Thanks for looking.

That is a fantastic hunt! What does the back of that button look like? Isn't that a replica of a $20 gold piece?:clapping:

There is nothing on the back really. There is a small hole in the center where maybe a hook or something fit in. It is a 2 pc style button.

Nice bit of silver and IH. They all seem close in dates. You didn't say but were they spills? The IH in a spill and the Mercs in a different spill. I am curious about the bracelet tho. The rivets suggest it isn't authentic but wondering if it was a 20's or 30's replica someone purchased in the SW like Arizona or NM. The grand canyon became a national park in 1919 which is where I came up with the possible dates above.

The only spill was the 1888 and 1892 indians in the same hole.

As for the bracelet, I think you are correct about the age and maybe even where it was purchased. It rang in at 12-47 and at first I thought I had a silver quarter or even half dollar.
