Found these today at the lake. A 1953 dime, 1945 mercury, and right next to the mercury, a 1943 quarter. three pennies were next to the quarter....one is so old (1800's) I cannot get the gunk off....any suggestions? Also, found the 5 dollar bill floating in the water. AND, an earing...do not know what type of metal it is.

Congrats on your first silvers!! :cheering:
I think the penny might be a wheatie, (Wheat back penny).
Usually your IH's will get a green color to them. Unless it's a fatty IH made from the nickle composition. Then the redness would make sense.
Does it seem thicker than an ordinary penny?

Ill Digger, One side of the coin is worn real thin and the other is the size of a penny. I used the toothpick idea and I see what looks like a relief of Lincoln...(sigh)....no 1800 coin. Should I toss it in water/salt/vinegar solution? Also, what is IH?
