A Couple of Silvers and a P.O.D. Button

I went out for a few hours this weekend and was able to dig a 1964 Rosie and a 1944 Merc. I also dug 2 States of the Union Tokens and 6 wheats. I think my coolest find was a Post Office Department Button. It was down about 10 inches and when I first saw it, I thought the guy was pointing a gun, but it turns out he is holding a letter.

Nice button. There is just a hint of gilt left to it. The last piece looks like a brooch. Apparently you were around when the state of the union tokens were distributed by shell, cuz you made no mention of it to those who prob haven't seen it. (I just looked it up. Lol.).

That P.O.D. button is an awesome find, Don! I wonder how old it is? It cleaned up nicely and still has a little gilt left on it.

:congrats:

wow Don , thats one of the nicest P.O.D. buttons i've seen in a while , it has a lot of gilt hiding under all the green . its a great candidate for a little clr. congrats on a nice button

Thats a cool old postal button Don!
Congrats!
I found 2 P.O.D.s buttons in one yard once. They were both under the old clothes line. At first I thought they were the same. Then while researching them I found out I had to different buttons. I don't remember the website either. But I'm sure you can just Google it.
