As usual I have been getting out only for about 20 minutes in the morning on the way home to detect at the local sports park. I have been concentrating around the play set area and edges of the parking lot lately. This morning I had better luck than the past few days-no more junker costume jewelry, but finally got silver.

After this find I walked along the edge of the soccer field and found what rang up as a quarter. When dug, I realized it wasn't a quarter, but maybe a token because of the wavy edge. It wasn't until later when I cleaned it up when I found it really is a Jamaican $10 coin. (worth about 8.6 cents US). What that's doing in Wisconsin I may never know! lol Still a nice find though.

Also got $2.23 in clad.

The silver was a lucky find. Also lucky because the cross was attached by a small metal ring that was so rusted it pretty much disintegrated when I pulled it from the ground. It held together just long enough, otherwise I may have lost the cross and not recovered it.

Way to go! All I can seem to find lately are junker rings. 8 of them in the last 10 days and it would take me two hours to find that much clad

Luckily I found another virgin park, this time in a more affluent area. Many coins laying right on the top of the grass or walkway!

Beauty silver find! I found a Barbados penny once in the woods looking for logging relics. Sometimes you can really get a head-scratcher.

Nice silver find.
Obvi the coin was from a vacationer. You explained it with the $10 JMD = 0.86 USD. I went there once when it was $32 JMD = $1USD. You just take home so much because you can't spend it and there's no point to exchange it back to USD. Prob the interesting shape was why the person was carrying it around to a park. Maybe it was their good luck coin.

Back to the park again this morning after work. No great finds this time-just $1.90 in clad, a junker aluminum ring, soccer pin and backing found a few feet apart, and a small key. I'll update this thread with any other finds as I go to this park.

congrats on the silver. I haven't been out in weeks, the ground is so dry I would need a jack hammer to recover targets.

Been finding some neat foreign coins as well this year but that is definitely unique. Looks more like a token. Great finds WD
