Well I was going to sleep in have some coffee and hang at the house today but the detecting bug got in me again http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing7.gif . I headed out to a couple of schools that I had not hunted in a few years . The first one was full of soccer players but the 2nd one was empty http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/hello2.gif . Years ago this field gave up some silvers and wheats so I was hoping for one more http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif . After a good hour and a hand full of clad I found a 1969 Canadian quarter , not silver but a keeper . Then as I worked my way to the side lines I had a +70 at 5 inches . Most of the time a +70 is one of three things , tiny silver , zinc penny or a game token . This time it was none of them http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/headbang.gif . I was almost shocked to see a 1907 Indian in the plug ! The area I was hunting is old but I never found any coins this old from this school . I don't find many Indians , only my 2nd this year http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif. Total clad for the hunt was $5.49 .

Nice Indian-looks to have a lot of detail and little if any wear. Love to see it cleaned up really well!

Nice Injun. For some reason, the oldest one I found looks the best.

Nice Indian! It looks like it has a lot of detail, even though it hasn't been fully cleaned I can clearly see 'Liberty' on the headband. I would recommend using hydrogen peroxide on it. I let my Indians sit in hydrogen peroxide for about 24 hours, it really gets rid of all the crud and packed dirt. Unless the coin is corroded they usually turn out really nice.

Nice find! :)
