Two New Sites!

We went out and secured permissions for some new sites and on the way back home decided to hit our stand by Large Cent field and again it did not disappoint as right along the edge of cornstalks Diane got a decent signal and Large Cent number seventeen emerged from this site! It was a super crusty 1848 Braided Hair and her grin showed she was happy with it.

A couple of days later we were able to get out to the first two of our new permissions. As usual for me on our first hunts on a new site I try to determine the main spot so that on our return we can grid it better. Diane made the first good find at the first site a 1904 Indian Head.

My best find at this site was a coat sized flat button, I think I said in the video “It’s a dandy” I did not mean that it was a “DANDY” button but that it was a dandy find lol!

At this site Diane found some suspender buckles and I made a few “partifact” finds as well. We went to the second site and at first did not find any promising targets but then I got a good 12-44 on the CTX and out popped a nice 1851 Braided Hair Large Cent!
