I need some help figuring out what this could be! It's a fairly heavy lead piece. I thought it could be a button but it's too heavy and thick. Doesn't look like a shank is present either. It was about 4 inches down and I've already found colonial objects in the nearby area. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Owen

Looks like a fired lead ball that flattened when it hit a hard object.

Earle has it right , its a large impacted round ball bullet and a pretty old one from its appearance .

Found it here in front of these rocks. Might explain why it's flattened!

Yep. Guy tripped over those rocks, accidentally fired his round into the ground and it struck another rock. Then you came around 150-200 yrs later!

Its a fired lead ball. I found one earlier this year that looked very similar to yours. Nice find

I concur with the others. Fired musket ball.
