Found an indian and this toy soldier. Never found a toy soldier. Any ideas how old this thing is? Found it at a house that dates pre 187551577515785157951580

I also have always wanted to dig a lead soldier. I'm guessing 1900 - 1920's. :congrats:on yours and the IH....is that a 1877?

Lead or pewter soldiers were popular in the late 1800's through around the 1920's, when they were then replaced by cast iron dime store varieties. What you have found looks to be an early 1900's sailor like the one selling here on E-Bay:

I was thinking the same as DOD about it being a sailor with that style uniform. Nice. A toy soldier is something I have yet to find.

Nice finds and congrats on the IH. I'd agree with others on the approx. date on the soldier. My initial guess was late 1800s/early 1900s and in the same period as your IH drop.

The indian came from a different location. However the house was pre 1875 where the soldier came from
