I returned to the house built in 1928 that I found the silver dimes and wheats last week and dug the most wiped silver dime I ever saw. You can barely make out the outline of the seated Lady Liberty on the front and man, is this dime thin ! No date on the front and the back isn't much better. But you can barely make out the "CC" mintmark (just my luck). Also found some more wheats, all from the 40's and 50's, a metal clothespin, a clip-on car registration tag, a barrette (my wife ID'ed it for me) and the top to a can or something with 3 holes punched through it. Maybe someone on the forum knows what it might be. I have spent about 3 hours in this yard and the newest coin I have found is a 1969 lincoln penny. Today I went to an old farmhouse and scored a 1942 Merc and a wheatie, the only 2 coins I found.

You are killing it. Finding any seated, no matter what the condition is huge. That yard holds more keepers for ya, keep going back.:thumbsup02:

Yes, you're definitely doing really well! That "can top" looks to me like the top of a lantern. :clapping:

Does that count as a half dime?? It looks like it bought every piece of candy between Nevada and CT!

Nice one, and a CC too!

Checking the CC seated dimes in the book and it's an 1875. That's the only year the CC was above the bow.

Thanks, I missed that. Glad to know it wasn't one of the early low mintage dimes.

No, Mike. The slickest coin would be the 1/2R that I saw Roger dig on Saturday. It was flat and thin.

Nice score, however, on another seated. Still good to get a CC mark. Guess it is def the 1875, altho it looks like there is a '0' from the picture. I did look up the varieties as well. You've done well for the amount of hunts you have done for the season.

Congrats on the 1875 CC Seated Dime! I would take that find any day! Carson City minted coins don't turn up very often, I have never found one.

:congrats:

Hey it's a seated I could live with that! Nice find. The seated dime I found this weekend was slick on the reverse.

WTG on the CC, Seated. Even in it's shape that mint mark is everything!
