just joined the forum to help me with the wonderful world of detecting. I've been detecting since the late 80s by myself I would like to meet other detectorists.

I'm glad you found us! We have a wonderful group of Illinois detectorists here! What are you swinging these days? Don't be afraid to post any former finds you're proud of! Welcome!

I have been detecting since the 80's and have found some really nice things over the years. the best recently has been a 1860 campaign button for Abraham Lincoln and Hannible Hamlin. I am using a atpro and a whites xlt.

Welcome from western MA. We have a "few" members who use the Etrac and they find some fantastic items. If I decide to add another detector it would be the ATPro. Looking forward to your future participation.

Welcome to the forum from SE Wisconsin. There are quite a few members from IL so you should be able to find a partner or two. GL

OK....I'm sort of in the same boat but here goes.

On the main page(where you clicked to post to this thread) there are multiple categories that you can click on.
Under each category there are multiple threads started by our members. If you want to read one of these you would then click on that one and if you want to respond with a comment, after the last response you will see +Reply to thread, click on that and then type in your response. Below the box in which you typed the response there will be a Post quick reply, click on that

Hope this helps

Al
