I found this in front of a home built in 1921... near the sidewalk. A solid +90 VDI at about 3, the size of half dollar. Exciting find for me today! :happydance01:

Anyone know where it's from? The owner of the house ---she's an archeologist ---- :envious: says her elderly husband (who's lived there his whole life) had family who were missionaries in China and India. They would visit often. It looks like a Hindu looking creature on the back to me....

He looks like Onwar Sadat or Menachem Begin- you think? Egyptian  The writing doesn't look Chinese that's for sure... When muddy I thought was a dragon at first, and Chinese...

Sorry Tana, I don't have a World Book of Coins :crying02: But it is a cool coin and probably from around the 50's or 60's. Nice lettered edge too. I hope someone in that field of collecting can shed some light on it. I could be way off on the date too lol  I bet that got the heart racing when a big disc like that one pops out :happydance01: :happydance01: :happydance01:

I believe it is a Baht coin from Thailand... Yeah, it's a baht (have to look for the denomonation. Here's a pic of one similar with a different rim. from the 1970's.

Here's a better one that matches yours... seems it is older. same size as a 5 baht but could be from the 50's.

Thanks for looking/finding it! Yes, I found that it is indeed a 5 Baht minted in 1977 & 1979 at this site:

Since it's not some million dollar coin I went ahead and cleaned it with aluminum foil and baking soda, it looks so much better!

I'll have to take a pic and share with you guys- after I get back from vacation <: Headed to the Smokey Mountains for a week... :)
