Late this afternoon my E-Trac was calling out to me to take her out for a hunt but I just didn't feel like taking a long drive. I opted to hit a local site for a short hunt instead. It worked out quite well. I scored with four silver coins, a 1925 mercury dime, two seated dimes, dated 1874 and 1889, and a 1759 Half Reale.

At first I thought this large piece was junk, but it's actually sterling silver. :smitten:

And there were a few wheat cents, and one Indian Head cent, dated 1900.

You found where I dropped my coin! I really wanted it returned in case I lost it so I punched my initials in it twice "BD" LOL I can forward my address so you know where to send it! Awesome find, I'd love to get a Spanish, but they are not very common around this neck of the woods.

I thought I recognized the initials. Those Half Reales are tiny and light. They do make for some exciting finds.

Any idea what the chunk of silver was? Awesome coins for sure, even if they are BD's

Nice early silver. Makes the Merc look like modern change  That counterstamped Half Reale is sweet!! If anyone has a hallmark book, you may be able to ID the initials. Is there a CC on the back of that '74 Seated?? That would be nice  Great little hunt Angel!!

The first thing I did when I saw the mint year was to check for that mint mark.

It would have been better if that silver piece had been a coin, but I'll take it anyway.
