Today I hit a couple of cellar holes with Trooper Bri , we trudged through the chilly woods this morning in search of three old cellar foundations but only found two . The first one coughed up a few goodies and is where most of my finds came from .

a few large dandy buttons the worlds smallest thimble  , a tiny garter buckle

and nice designed shoe buckle frame :happydance01:.

I also found a spot where a bunch of iron buckles , iron rings and horse tack rivets were discarded (last picture) . It was strange how they were all in one spot . The second spot didn't produce much for me except parts to a shoe buckle (chape & tongue) and a button . But I did find another good reason to wear gloves while doing this hobby !!:shocked04::shocked03::shocked02: Its a blade off of a razor headed arrow tip , I'm sure i would of cut myself while grabbing dirt out of the hole if I didn't have my gloves ! ouch!

and my total of keepers after the day !

Nicely done Dan! Who's machine is that? Doesn't look like your coil. Those arrow tips sound great....then I always give thanks I didn't cut off a finger:lol:
Hey, I just got a book about early American adornment and the author says that the pin, tongue, and "roll" are all part of the chape. You ever hear this? I always thought the chape was the round part with two small points and the tongue was the pitchfork part, like you mentioned.
How is Trooper?

Nice relics Dan. Those broadhead inserts could sure ruin a hunt if you're not careful.

The usual arrow tips are pretty east to hear but i thought it was odd to just find the razor part . Drew I was actually using Brian's V3i ,friday was just for a few hours with it (more like a "training lesson" as i didn't get much with it ) Saturday was a bit better with it .Tropper Bri has been doing well lately i'll see if i can get him to post his last couple of days worth .

Hmmm , I thought the chape was the part called the "roll" , I just learned something new !

Nice hunt Dan. I also found a razor arrow head on Saturday. One of the reason I always wear my gloves!
