Hi all,
Had a nice meet up and hunt Friday morning with Badgers325 at the park where I had been finding the old stuff recently. Unfortunately neither of us found much other than clad and a religious looking token I found.

After this short hunt I was off to a couple old farm sites that apparently date dack into the mid to late 1800s. I did find a couple trash piles, an old foundation with a stone front step and a cistern, but nothing of interest. Just a few copper scraps I will keep for scrap. On the way out a lady walking her dogs told me about a cellar hole not far from the farms. I may have to check that out!

Since I still had a few hours to hunt I went to another old park. This has had to have been hunted to death, but I still manage to find lots of wheaties and the rare silver. Working around the old baseball diamond along the first base area I got a good wheatie signal at about 8 inches. First thing I see is a penny with 2 silver rims stacked on edge. Pulled them up and found I had the wheatie, a rosie, and a 47 Washington! My first silver quarter to date. :) After I snapped a pic I double checked the hole and found one more wheatie hiding there. Nice coin spill! The one problem I have hunting this park is that all the good targets start at 7 inches down, and I have trouble picking up to those deep signals unless the coin is flat, so it's a bit challenging to say the least.

The 11 wheaties include a 29D, 36P, and a 191?S. If I can determine the date as an early teen S minting it could be worth a few bucks even with the poor last 2 digits of the date.

And the clad $8.37, a junker ring, buttons, and an old gas light valve

The token is still a nice find for the first place. Grats on your first silver quarter. A '41 Washington was the first I got for all silver, even before a merc or a jewelry piece.

Congrats on your finds! Sounds like there is still some life in that park yet
