Managed to get out for a bit on Sunday. Hit a spot that I hadn't been to in years. Managed to pull a V nickel and a sterling religious medal from the iron trash around the late 1800's cellar hole site. Gave them to the landowner who had stopped by when he saw my car. He thought it was cool that his grandparents had probably held both those objects at some point.

Hiked through his woods to a field where I had only found modern junk in the past. Was surprised to dig a paper thin KG II from the small lane between fields. Just enough detail to get an ID. I just didn't think there was any colonial stuff there. Might have to revisit that field again.

you gotta admit Jeff , just going home with a copper (no matter the condition) when you really weren't expecting one is a good feeling , isn't it??
I hope there are more colonial goodies to find in that field .

Rebel, it's the first KG for me this year. Hopefully more to come.

Very true Dan! The one's you don't expect are the one's you appreciate more.....even if it is toasted.

You are darn right Al  I will dig those foot deep crushed cans and old tractor and car parts with a bit more enthusiasm knowing there is likely some colonial goodies to be found too.

Nice going making the land owner's day...and then rewarded with a KG! Keep it up!
