My home town used to have a ball field down next to our park. I got permission to hunt the attached property and going down there today. Reds played down here in the 1800s. Hope this site is the place. Will report if I find anything. Excited. Going to take my F75LTD2 with me with all the coils. Will pound it till it produces.

A lot of towns and cities had big team ballparks in that era, and i would suspect a lot of great finds. I found the location of our ballpark here in Milwaukee for example and had high hopes until I realised that it had been replaced by the interstate. But keep on researching for the forgotten past as you may be surprised like I was finding things like an old fairgrounds, a horse racing track and a shooting gallery. GL&HH

What I meant is that those would have been great sites but they are no longer in existence. The only hope is to find residual little plots that may still have something. One example in my area is a large vacant lot used by the city for parking construction equipment sometimes that is across the street from what used to be a haymarket from around 1840 to about 1900. You just never know till you swing your coil over the area.
