Found this 3 ringer in Missouri today, admittedly I know little about old bullets. I assume it's Civil War era,
any more information much appreciated.
Thanks...

I'm not a CW bullet expert either by any means, but all the videos I've watched and articles I've read indicate that the 3 ringers are indeed CW era. Looks like you have an unfired 60 caliber round, which was a common size in that time.

I think Digger may have hit the wrong key when he IDed your bullet as a 60 caliber. I think he may have meant to say it was a 69 caliber. I have a couple CS 69s and somewhere in my stuff there are a few US ones but I can't put my hands on the US ones right this minute. MY CS 69 weighs 47.17 grams or 727.8 grains. It is 1.097"s long and .68"s in diameter. I am using digital calipers and a reloader's digital scale so I can tell what the measurements are. I'll confess that I am not very good at reading the analog calipers but I think your bullet measures out almost the same as mine.
69 calibers are not as plentiful as the 54 and 58s so yours is a good find. And, yes I agree that it is a civil war era bullet and probably early on as the 54 and 58 replaced the 69 during the war. Keep hunting that site as there may be more there.

I misread the calipers on my small screen, made it look like about. 600, or a 60 cal in general terms (.58 or .62). Without an actual micrometer in hand it would be difficult to read from a photo. But very good info, thanks for the follow up!
