so....about 2 years ago i found a cuff link on my honey field, it didn't look much so i threw it in with my scrap silver and thought nothing more of it.
it came to the end of the year and i took it along with all my other silver to my silver guy and i think he gave me $70 for it all.
forward to last year, and one of our members posts a picture of a cuff link he had found and a story of the history along with it (cant remember who posted) and loe and behold there was an exact match to my cuff link i had found and took in with me scrap !!! devastated was not the word !.
forward again to today and im in me back garden swinging the old AT pro and up comes another cuff link exactly the same as the one i got rid of !!.
,i mean come on, what are the chances.

You scrapped a silver cufflink from 1690?

Unreal! Had to check the date to be sure it wasn't April fools day...all I can say is OUCH! Those things I see for sale usually between about $1800-$3500 a pair. That's really a shame not just for the monetary value, but the historical value. :shocked01:

Wow! That is crazy! I will give you $75 for it... ;) I think I recently saw a YouTube video where someone found something with a gold thread in it...wonder if it was one of these cuff links?

Well the chances were not too crazy if you found it at the same site, because what you posted is not a full cufflink, it's a half... so you found a complete link but on two different occasions. I have actually found 3 half links, all the same design, and all from different sites which were not in the same area... but will say the design on mine seems to be the most common for the Stuart crystal links, having the back to back C design. It's great that you were able to find another one to keep.... and also learn a good lesson not to get rid of anything you haven't ID'd. :)
