I went back to the field today and was informed that the plowed, not planted area has been planted. Asked permission for another area and was granted permission.

So I cross the street and proceed to do an area that I know I have done many times before. As I stopped to light a cigarette (yes, my vice) I started to look at an area that I had been to before but had found nothing. So off I go to this area with a promise to myself that if I don't get any targets I will leave that area.

The 1st pass gave up the tiny cuff button so that was the target I was looking for. The 2nd pass gave up the 1777 2 Reale, my largest Spanish silver to date. This is my 4th piece of Spanish silver, the other 3 all 1/2 reales. VDI of 78 bouncing up to 83, about 4-5 inches down.

So now I am going real slow, get a nice VDI of 83, thinking to myself here's the copper. Nope....a very detailed ruler of some sort....modern.....WTH.

Next would be the pair of scissors, don't know weather they are old or not. Finally the musket balls and with the sweat dripping into my eyes I went home.

Thanks for reading and HH everyone.

P.S. another coin for my signature.

Al that site gives no sign of drying up! I think you can give up all your other sites and just hunt that one.

Nice bit of silver ! Are those scissors brass ???

After taking a brass brush to the scissors I believe they are brass.

Congrats on that beautiful spanish silver! I would expect that you will likely find a lot more in those fields too. Sounds like a lot of history there.

Nice going on the 2R. Still looking for my Spanish silver. Hopefully I'm not far off from finding one (or a GW). Sometimes it's just odd. The last site after my fob... I was on top of the hill behind the cellar. I was getting ok VDIs for possible buttons. I dug like 6 of them. Next signal was close in VDI.. out pops a lantern piece. Not as spectacular as yours.. but it proves the 'you never know" notion.

Way to go Al! Just a great site that continues to produce great stuff. Hey, that ruler may actually come in handy. Use the round holes at the end to determine your musket ball calibers! HH!
