I was able to get out for three short daybreak hunts. With the exception of the token, this was all found within a 200ft by 40ft area. The barber quarters sounded like one coin, and not as deep as the others. I nabbed the first one and put the plug back. Ran coil again and got the same sound/numbers...and the exact same coin!:loveit:I did however, scratch the face of one of the Barbers:angry:

Is that Washington a large motto?? Thanks for any info!!

I coin popped that token on the way to my car, thinking it was a clad quarter at 3in. But it was the token at 4-5 inches, and I didn't scratch it! Lucky!
Interesting thing, a guy who works to maintain the park drove up in his work truck....I thought oh no:bummer:...but the guy just wanted to tell me the history of the park and wanted info on getting a detector. Super nice guy...I told him I'll bring a second machine and show him the ropes tomorrow.
Thanks!!
PS Nice silver to wheat rate huh

That's a nice pair of barbers you got there.

DREW! You are having a monumental year, my friend! :wow:

I love those twin 1893 Barber Quarters! How lucky was that?! Two in one hole!

The 1934 Washington Quarters have either "light" motto or "heavy" motto. I'd say yours is definitely the heavy motto version as it is very distinct.

Congrats on all that silver! :clapping:

Thank you very much guys! I guess that token is pretty cool, "Coin Castle" was a casino in Vegas from 70s to 90s
Tony, thanks for the info....I'd like to see you get turned loose on these parks!

Wow, your killing it at those parks. Awesome finds! :perfect10: Love the Barbers!

I'm hoping to get back out there next spring, maybe we could hit a couple parks together. hint, hint.:crossfingers:

You've mastered the Cellar holes and parks. Have you done any door knocking?

Thanks, Don...I've only asked farmers thus far. Most of my normal cellar hole/field hunting is done on farms with permission.

Drew! Only 3 wheats? Are you cherry picking my friend? Wow, what a nice haul. I think you're developing a master detectorist plan - cellar holes and fields in the spring and fall, and old parks in the heat of summer! That's definitely getting you a variety of banner finds from across the years for sure! Congrats.

You know John, my intention is not to cherry pick silver and I usually dig many more wheats than silvers. I don't have tons of park experience so I bet I've missed targets this summer, but I try to stay away from zincolns and clad dimes... so I bet I leave some wheats in the ground. The clad dimes really get to me. There are just too many at 1-5 inches. They drive me nuts. Not the quarters though, they are worth digging for the spending money

Really nice run of goodies lately Drew. We are lucky to live in a state with so many good sites with so much history. I like the old Washington!

Drew, nice silver haul and we don't get to see dualling silvers very often. Hang in there, cellar hunting time will be here before ya know it.
