Got out this early morning before it got too hot. Hiked in to another of my old spots and managed to find a few targets.

Managed to dig a holed Draped Bust. Can't tell from the photo but I'm pretty sure its 1797.

Also dug typical stuff and a couple of whatsits.

Not sure what this thing is. Actually I have no idea what it is :). All guesses welcomed.

Always nice to find a big copper and a Draped is extra sweet!

18th century coin, hard to beat that! I wonder what they used it for. Nice going Jeff!

Nice nab on the LC Jeff! Any LC is better than no LC right? Continuously envious of the open ground you southern New Englanders have at many of your sites. That's like 1 in 10 up here. HH!

John, I say that about the sites I see our friends in CT post pics of. It seems like the woods are so open that you could drive a car from the road right up to the lip of the cellar hole :envious:. Of course that is not true but it seems that way ;). Most of my sites are brush and briar choked. This site's cellar hole was so choked you could walk within 5 feet of it and never know it was there.

Nice diggs. I always like finding the LC's. I have always wondered how they got the holes in the coins. A nail and hammer I suppose. Not too many battery powered drills back then.
