Nice job. Finding something from the 1800's always gets me motivated to get back and hunt out that place.

Nice recovery. Gotta love anything over 100 years old. Do you clean your coppers or just leave them natural?

I usually drop them in olive oil and let them sit for a while. Thinking about trying the toothpick method on this one.

Hope so. The place is from the mid-1700s. And it's public land. Belongs to the Army Corps of Engineers. The sign as you enter the place states that metal detecting is permitted, but if you find anything over a 25 dollar value, you must turn it in. Probably won't find anything worth much, but ya never know.
