Just getting back into the hobbie after a lot of years.
Retired,so I have time for a new interest.
There should be a Minelab Safari on my doorstep tomorrow.
Will be doing some bench testing and then I will be planting a detector garden with clad, silver, copper and a fair amount of trash to get acquainted with.
Also if anyone is in the general area , please introduce yourself .
Cant wait to get started again

Welcome to the forum, bigdob! It sounds like you are on the right track to getting back in the hobby. I lived in the Champaign area for the past 20 years and had a lot of luck detecting in the central Illinois parks. I recently moved to southeast Illinois.

I love my Minelab machine and I'm sure you will like your Safari. What kind of detector did you used to have?

Best of luck and be sure to keep us posted on your progress!

Tony
I had a Garrett Groundhog and an ADS Deepseeker
The Groundhog was a great machine that I spent a lot of time with, the Deepseeker not so much.
Then work got in the way and I sold them but that's all behind me now , retired and lots of time and we love to RV so even more opportunities .
Hope to look for gold in Arizona this winter and do some research on meteorite hunting as well.
The skies the limit
