I have been hunting the 1845 Homestead pretty steady lately. Here are some of the items I have found over the last week which are worth posting. The large cent and wheaty were found just today. I am glad I found them because I was beginning to believe the site had already been picked clean.

The 1820 large cent was only two inch deep resting on a large root of a very old walnut tree. Not sure how to judge the age of walnut trees but this one has a diameter of three and a half to four feet. The 1912 wheaty is the first one I have found. All the other pennies I have found are 1970 to present. I was expecting to have found more wheats by now. No silvers yet either.

The compact had glass pieces inside and I believe they were part of a mirror as they had some silvery backing. Compact diameter is 1.5 inch.

There is a lot of property here and I guess I better keep digging.

That LC is in amazing shape...too bad for the dent. Glad to hear you have lots of property left. Good luck on return trips :)

I agree with Drew, nice LC. Took me over 200 pennies to finally get my first wheat. Is that handle silver?

Not sure if that is silver or not. It shines real nice straight from the hole. No maker marks. The silver piece is actually two individual pieces wrapped/joined around an iron tang. Not sure if the item was a fork , cake knife or spoon but what ever it was it was not in the hole with the handle. You can see that the tang is very rusted out.

Nice finds. I wonder if the LC saw a house fire. It's almost of the denticles followed the change that the rim did.
The folded piece looks like it says "CT07 U.S.A. NY DC"... I wonder what that signifies.
That pressed rectangle item I wonder if it could be like a cover for a matchbox.
