Today I got out for a few hours of detecting. I decided to search one of the older schools. I know it's been hunted a lot, but I remained hopefull. My first target was a 1938 wheatie. I was hoping this was a good sign. A couple hours later I pulled the second wheatie. Then, I finally saw the glint of silver. First I thought Finally, a silver dime, then I saw how small it was and thought somebody had cut a dime in half. Turned out to be a very tiny St. Cristopher medal.

I onloy got a small section covered today. The two wheaties (both at about 5-6 inches) leaves me hopeful that there is still more silver to be pulled from that site. Of course, I still need to go finish working that park I've been working my way across.

If you are still pulling targets at the 5-6 range, then there should be pleanty a bit deeper than that. Keep at it, and I hope you get more silver.

That is a nice religious pendant. Oh yeah, the site is worth working again. :)

The bad thing was that I was pulling modern clad from the surface down to the 6 inch mark. Some areas seem to have been disturbed. Everything from sandy soil, to dark loam, to Oklahoma red-clay.

If you were pulling wheats then the site definitely has potential. I like the medallion... haven't found one of those in a long time!
