Hi all,
Went back to the old church I pounded previously with the hope that using the big coil and hitting the iffy signals I might get lucky. Well, I got some luck! No largie this time, but I dug a 12-21 that also gave me a peep of a high tone. Instead of the expected pull tab, I found a nice silver plated lead horse pin. I then rechecked the hole, and got a sweet solid 13-45. So about a foot down I find my first Barber dime since joining the forum! A bit worn 1909, but nice nevertheless! :thumbsup02:
I also managed a few late Wheaties and what I think was an old button. With the amount of fill and really soft soil here I really could use a good PI machine. Little trash left, but the goodies are typically a foot or more deep. :shocked01:

Could thing you rechecked the hole! Congrats on your first, or first in a while Barber. Seems like you got the knack of how to hunt that church.

Great job sniffing out the silver amongst the trash / low tones. The more you acquaint yourself with those kind of signals the more success you will have at the hunted out parks that are everywhere. Sure you will dig a lot of junk but you will also find the goodies too.

Grats on some silver. Always recheck the hole. I do even for iffy signals when I pull out a few nails and hoping the bent one wasn't what I was hearing. That bigger disk is the button?

Yes the large disc next to the horse pin. It's smooth with no decoration. Has a rusted off hunk on back center I assume was the eyelet.

As for the odd mixed low tones, I have that pretty well figured out now unlike I did a year as go. Plus using a much more open program and better settings allows me to get more of the hidden tones. Still, I very rarely run across combinations like that.
