Hey All,

Thanks for the great community here. I have learned a lot by just reading in the forum.

I just signed up because I want to make metal detecting a serious hobby.

I've fallen in love with it. I once had an opportunity to try it out with friends and it was amazing. I wanted to try it again.

Hello Felix have and welcome from frigid wisconsin! I assume you must have made some good finds to get hooked so fast! What machine are you swinging and what part of the country do you hail! Different types of detecting often dictate equipment, techniques, etc. Tell us more about you, and we have lots of great experienced members here that will be happy to answer questions as best as possible.

Metal Detecting is one of those rare hobbies that can incorporate so many more areas to maintain your interest. You become a student of history and relics. You can become a map reader and a detective to search out good areas to detect. It can be so much more than you ever imagined.

I wish the gf was more inclined to do it more often. The cellars are prob the most challenging sites to hit and often there is little found. It's good to be in a hobby to a stress release as well to get out of the daily bs, not just for the sheer gain. I like the woods mostly cuz its quiet.
