Hi all,
Pretty sure how this will go, but I found a listing on Amazon for a "never used" "used" Whites TDI Pro PI detector on sale for $499. At that price I'm pretty suspicious, but Amazon seems to be pretty good about weeding out counterfeit merchandise as opposed to Ebay. Could this price be legit? My thought was maybe. It's a discontinued model, maybe left over stock being cleared out on the cheap? Got a good return policy through Amazon in case of problems too, so more security there. Thoughts anyone? I know I would LOVE to hit those beaches and dig those rings @ 2 feet!

That seems incredibly low for a price , especially a "never used" one . can you return it with no penalty if your not satisfied or if it is a fraud product ?

Amazon tends to stand behind what's sold on their site, more so than ebay. Just a little more concerned because it's a new seller with no rating of reviews as of yet. I've submitted some questions, so I'll wait for the reply. I'll also review Amazons policies on returns and counterfeit products as well to make sure they didn't change anything lately.
Honestly, the TDI wasn't my first choice, but it's close. Wish I could afford (and justify the price) of a Minelab GPX 5000

Ask the seller for the serial #, then give White's a call with that info and see if they can help.

Great idea!
I did ask for a mfg date to find out if it's an early or late model (ie: 2010 vs 2016) Also asked for more photos in hopes of getting a good view of the label.

Just as a side note, been digging in depth searching for fake Whites TDI machines without luck. Many forums on the topic of fake detectors say that Whites works very hard to shut down the counterfeit trade of their machines, including "look alikes". Minelab is supposed to be trying pretty hard too, but apparently only go after exact copies. Just on alibaba alone I found listing service for a GPX7000 (as opposed to the GPZ7000), a TEC 5000 (GPX 5000 clone), and many others. Also seen clones for Garret, Tesoro, and others. It's crazy!:bangshead01:

Guess that settles it, the listing has been removed. :bummer::bummer:

Ok, maybe not dead in the water. Got a reply to another inquiry from Amazon as follows:

Hello,

I will explain in this email all terms and condition
The White's TDI SL w/12 Metal Detector - 800-0332-12 is BRAND NEW, never used, ( US model, not grey market or refurbished), but Amazon does not let us list it as new. The product is Sealed in its original box and comes with full Warranty, receipt, all manufacturer supplied accessories...
The total price is $400.00 including all shipping taxes if you are in US and for international shipping you have to pay extra 29,99 $ (outside US) .
If you want to buy, send me your phone number, full name, shipping address and I will contact Amazon asap to process your order. Dispatch is by normal UPS Services, which takes 1-3 days depending on where in the US you are.
My return policy is full money back in 30 days.

For more information don't hesitate to contact me!

Even lower price, but it's the SL model and not the Pro. Thinking....
