I know the title is just a bit deceiving but the home is from the 1730's just the items found are not. This home was converted back in the mid 1900s as a tourist place for folks from New York City to come up and enjoy the great outdoors of the Catskill Mountains. There was a swimming pool in the front yard for visitors which was filled in 15 years ago. Beings the snow had cleared and the sun was out, my friend gave me the thumbs up to detect. The 2.5 acre property has been detect before but they missed a couple things..
I found a 1936 Merc, my first silver this year and a silver 1957 Valley Forge Boy Scouts Jamboree Ring.. I also found some buffalo nickles , wheaties and a bunch of the usual can slaw, nails, copper wire, etc... will be going back tomorrow..

Nice finds! If they missed a ring of that size, figure they probably missed a whole lot more. Good luck on the next hunt!

Nice ring find.
Dan, didn't the BSA start almost the same time as the parks services did? Well, 1910 and 1913. I remember telling you that fact when I saw it on TV that money was put into the service to clear these forests for public use.
