Here are a few pics of the last couple weeks of finds. I found a fair amount of silver coins so that always makes me happy. There is a crusty old 1893 Indian and a Buff from the 1920s.

I did find a bucket lister...I came across a wheatie spill and noticed that a couple of them were from 1942 so on a hunch I switched on the Quick Mask on my Etrac which allows me to hear the iron that I normally discriminate out. My Etrac has a Sunray X1 probe which runs through the etrac so what ever settings are on my Etrac are also on the probe. Anyways I got a solid 35-27 and found a rusty penny...my first steel wheat.

What do you guys think about this buckle? I don't think it is that old...maybe 1920's. It is about 2''x1'' and is cast bronze. I found it at a home site that was torn down in the 1950's.

Very cool finds, congrats on the silvers and "steelie"! Neat looking buckle. Can't say I've seen one quite like it.

Ah yes back when America joined World War II penny's turned to steel because copper was being used in war. This also happened to nickels but they turned 40% silver.

Good job on the silver, Buffalos and 1893 Indian Head! Congrats on your first 1943 steel cent. I have found two of them, both in coin spills. They don't hold up too well in the ground, LOL!

I wonder if that buckle is a sash buckle? It's nice looking, whatever it is.
