I found this recently at an old farm field. The parts were in different holes a few inches apart and I was lucky enough to find them all. It struck me as odd that a heart shaped 1943 Australia coin was in NJ. I did some Googling and I found other heart shaped 1943 coins from Australia that were labeled as "trench art". I would think this would/should be found overseas. Any info anyone has (or opinions) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Ken

Highly impressed with that Australian coin. Could it be some sort of love token?? Also very impressed that you found all three pieces.....:notworthy:

I agree with your assessment. WW2 soldier making love tokens out of coins as he traveled the world. Probably all on a bracelet or necklace when lost in that field. Great find.

Beautiful find, and bet it has a great story. Too bad that probably got lost with it.

Thanks all. I was thinking about the story of this as well once I realized where it was most likely made and when. Hopefully the young man who made it came home too.
