Wow, never seen anything like it. Very awesome looking find, suspect possible museum piece! Try contacting your local museum or local experts. Thinking maybe the Smithonian could have interest due to its possible historic relevance.

My hunting partner found one that sold over at heritage auctions and they have only ever handled 2.. They said there are less than 10 known examples known to exist.

So it seems you know more about it than the rest of us. Since your friend sold his, just curious what something like that is worth?

What an amazing find!! Congratulations on getting another awesome piece of American history! I think it's interesting that he went with IO as the abbreviation for John. "I" being the Latin letter that predates the invention of the letter J in the English language. Very interesting indeed! Thanks for sharing and HH Dave.

thanks ,I saw the same thing in 1611 Bible where they spelled Jesus with the I. I'm still pumped about it.

It is by far my best the more people contact me about its really starting to sink just how rare this thing is. John Adams GGG grandson contacted me and wanted to post images on his site and that is way cool to me.

Thanks I had some calling it a button too. I just thought it was a cuff link as it is so small.... One place said it might be the same maker who made the GW buttons but that not a proven fact though.. I hope more info comes to light thanks for posting what you found on it...
