Last weekend I got out to the old home with ScottyB again. Still slim pickins but I did find another old merc. This one is a 1916 plain. There is more there for sure just have to work it real slow.

With the warm temps I have been detecting during my lunch breaks and did quite well with a couple silvers including a heavy ring marked 925. Also found an old Put & Take game piece. I can tell that it is hand made out of hex bar stock and lathed down. The lettering is off which tells me its probably handmade. Hard to tell how old it is but I got it along a sidewalk that had homes dating to the very early 1900's.

Well we received 5 inches of snow yesterday which is kinda depressing when the day before it was 61 and my boys were hitting golf balls in the backyard. But it will be gone soon enough.

Nice set of dimes, and that ring is a honker! Never heard of put and take, but looks like a nice piece of history.

Its a game of chance. I always heard that soldiers would play it for cigarettes.
