Got out with Danny (Del) and Dave this past Sunday and again with Danny on Thursday. Sunday, I found a late 1600's William III Half Pence and a very nice late 1700's child's size, complete, brass shoe buckle! :shocked03:6427764283

On Thursday, I found my first King George II Hibernia Copper! 64278

Sweet finds Donnie , your cleaning skills are impressive .

I learned everything I know about cleaning coins and relics from you, my friend. I screwed up lots of coins and relics in the past. Your methods are tried and true. I just hope that someday I can do a better job on the coins. I either go too far or not far enough.

Jade! I like that! I used one of Danny's methods to bring out the color. Now, I need to go back and redo all of my finds for the past two years. :)

Great finds Donnie and congrats on just a wonderful buckle! That's one colonial find that's still on my list - a complete one at least. Is that a fancy rosette I see in the hand shot with the coins? That looks killer!

Yes, it's an open work rosette with a lead filled back. It blew my ears off as it was only a few inches deep. I am still hoping to find a complete large shoe buckle. I feel fortunate to have found a child's size as I don't think they come up as often.

Holy cow Donny!! I'm usually a coin guy. But a good relic will trump a..:dontknow:.eeh, ho-hum coin. And not that your coppers are ho-hum or nuthin, but :shocked04::omg::shocked05: Look at that buckle!!!! That little cutie is cherry!!! And I love that patina!! :loveit:
Congrats on some killer finds!

That buckle is a rare find, Donnie! :wow::drool::congrats: Is the pin iron?

I noticed that the pin appeared to be iron when I was cleaning the buckle. In addition, the chape is ever so slightly askew as if it had been stepped on after it was lost. For those reasons, I didn't want to risk breaking it so I just left it frozen.
