I have not been out detecting since the beginning of May. I have been working on a project at home with the family...something for my crotal bell collection. Once it is completed then I will share it here of how I plan to display some of them...I doubt anyone will be able to guess.

Anyways I decided would take Memorial Monday as my day to get away and detect. So I ventured to a very old spot and did quite well in the 90 degree weather. I had to pace myself and keep hydrated but it was worth it.

The relics include a brass lever thing that has a patent date of 1846, a clay pipe stem, a key that seems to be half modern and half skeleton, a few of the MANY square nails I dug ( they ring up in the nickel range when they are deep and I am still in search of my first Shield Nik so I got to dig them), and a token.

These Indians are pretty crusty but all are 1800's which make me happy. They are 1865, 1891, 1894 and 1895. The 1865 has a full LIBERTY under all of that poo. Oh well.

My silvers...It was so nice to see it again.

The Buffs I dug about 3 weeks ago. The 1913 Type 1 is one of the best Buffs I have ever dug. These are a good example of the difference between Type 1 and Type 2.

:congrats:Very nice finds and pictures , I especially liked the Buffalo nickels comparison shot .You've got my imagination going as to what you are building to display your Crotal bells . I'm thinking something along the lines of them hanging from a home made light fixture or something like that . I think if I ever found one I would rent a cow and a modeling runway and charge admission to watch the old girl proudly wearing it . Yes , I think I better get out and dig a few pulltabs , heat or not .

Very nice bunch of finds! Grats on a those great coins and unusual key. I'm guessing a crotal bell wind chime?

So many cool finds! If I had to choose, I'd take the items in the first photo! 1840s is a old patent! The token is rare...the key is distinctive, and I've only found a few pipe stems. Crotals are so rare for me that you've peaked my interest on what you have planned! Nice detecting, Jared!

Super finds, love them Buffs, Looks like that 1913 was dropped in 1913!

Long time no see Jared! You've been hoarding some good finds to post! Just love that '13 Buff - amazing condition. The pseudo-skeleton key is also an unusual but neat find. Keep cool!'
