Howdy Diggers,
I hunted 2 different sites this weekend and got Roman coins at both! Funny how there's something you want to find but you can't find it to save your life, and then BOOM, it's suddenly all you can find! LOL. I even found 2 Romans at the medieval woods where I found the giant Roman coin last week. I was thinking that maybe a Roman road went through that area and now I'm convinced having found 3 Roman coins in the same small patch of woods. I also found a very tiny coin that is made from high-grade copper. I've showed it around and the consensus is that it is not Roman and it is not Celtic. When I do get an identification I'll be sure to let you know! Here's some pics and thanks for looking!

Very nice Dave! I'm always fascinated how some old coppers stand the test of time so well, while others are just wiped. I'm convinced it's partly soil type and appropriate drainage (the drier the better, like on a slope), but most likely some other process is going on shortly after the coin got buried so as to preserve it for all those years. I ran into this just yesterday. Two coins only a hundred yards apart - one in good shape, the other completely wasted.

Those Roman bronze coins are simply gorgeous, Dave! I can't even imagine the feeling of finding something that old. It seems that every time you go out over there you find something new and amazing. Even the buttons are spectacular!

Please let us know what the unidentified coin is when you find out.

Congrats on another mind blowing outing! :clapping:

How long are you there? I forget.

I'm here for 3 years (woohoo!). Here's a pic of the 2 best coins all cleaned up and waxed.

OK Dave, I love reading your posts but they make me drool so much that I am getting dehydrated. I am going to send you my Gatorade receipts for reimbursement.
