Hey diggers,
It was supposed to rain ALL day so we went prepared and not a single drop of rain fell! LOL. I had a great day. a 23 lb cannon ball from 2 1/2 feet down. 2 old silvers: a 1684 Kreutzer from Germany and a 1574 Douzain from France (King Charles IX). Both coins are in TERRIBLE shape but that's okay--I'll be keeping them! I also got 3 nice buckles. Two are from the 1600's and one is a late medieval buckle ca. 1350 to 1450. I had two surprise finds today also. A very nice Roman coin from about 10 inches deep. It's a sestertius depicting Septimius Severus and dates to A.D. 193 - 211. I also found a Bronze Age knife blade. I'm told it's probably about 2,500 years old. In the second pic I highlighted where it was hafted to a handle. Throw in a few assorted buttons and about 23 musket balls and I had a great day! Thanks for looking and MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!

That was an amazing six hours, Dave! I hope you had a shovel to dig out that cannonball and not just a hand digger! LOL

The Roman coin is gorgeous. It boggles the mind at how expansive the Roman empire used to be.

The bronze knife blade was the prize of this hunt though. What an incredible piece of history! It is in pretty good shape too. If only it could talk! Wonderful!

I can't wait to see what you find next!

Where is the gold???????

That's the $64,000 question Noah. I'm hoping to find a gold coin sooner than later so keep your fingers crossed for me!
