One of the things I like most about this hobby are the interesting things you find beyond the coins. This weekend I was hunting an old Park I have been hunting since I was a kid. I was still amazed at the good signals I was getting including a really nice silver quarter signal. The signal turned out to be an Old Political Token that I was able to get some history on. Turns out to be a guy who ran unsuccessfully for Governor of Wisconsin in 1912 and 1916 making the token over 100 years old. Quite the unique find. The other amazing results were 7 Wheaties and a really worn Barber Dime from a pounded park. I also included a nice looking 1910 wheatie Wisconsin Digger

Yeah it was aluminum. It cleaned up pretty well with am light wire wheel cleaning. WD

Nice token with some interesting history behind it. Rarely do aluminum tokens come out of the ground looking that nice. It makes me wonder when they started making tokens out of aluminum. Clearly they were doing it by 1916.
